Tips on Mowing Grass
Below is a list of the recommended heights that your grass should be mowed depending on the type of grass. These are the most popular types of grass in the Mid-South area.
Zoysia: Zoysia should be cut at about anywhere from 2 1/2 to 3 inches to keep it healthy. At the start of spring, however, you should cut the Zoysia shorter and then raise afterward when summer starts to roll in. Even if your Zoysia Grass is in the shade you will want to keep the grass cut at about two inches to keep it healthy.
Bermuda: The ideal height for Bermuda Grass is 2 1/2 to 3 inches long throughout the prime growing season. When spring begins and you make your first cut of the season you’ll want to make sure that the “dead ends” from the winter dormancy are cut and new growth can begin. Bermuda clippings can also stay on the grass with no anticipated damage coming from doing so.
Also, make sure your lawn mower is in good condition.
